Artist Statement
I am a painter working in acrylics, drawing inspiration from the external landscape and environment: physical, relational, and spiritual; from the internal landscape of spirit, heart, and mind; and from the interactions and relationships between them.
I love the natural environment of Aotearoa New Zealand, and have always been drawn to explore and enjoy it’s rugged beauty and mysterious wonder. Behind and within the landscape, I have always sensed an inviting, benevolent presence, the faithful and good God revealed in Jesus, the creator of all this multi facetted beauty.
My hope is that people who view my work will connect with something authentic and personal through my perspectives and experiences. But equally, that their own personal memories, feelings and connections with special times, places and experiences will be sparked as well.
