JILL SMITH
B.Ed, B.Th, M.C.C, M.A.(Hons) Arts Therapy
Christian ministry devoted to participating in the reconciling movement of God.
I live and work to connect and flow with the reconciling life of God, and am drawn to the meeting place of heaven and earth, the visible and invisible, creativity and spirituality, inner life and everyday reality. I’m compelled by the sense that all things are held together in Christ within a woven, relational universe shaped by self-giving love. Through prayer, art, writing, teaching, counselling and prophetic ministry, I try to help people glimpse and experience the nearness, beauty, and wholeness of God and the harmonising movement of his kingdom in the world. I don’t feel I arrived, but I do keep stumbling into wonderful grace and deeper reality, and get so excited, I just want others to come and I see what I’ve found.
What I offer
I work with individuals, groups, and communities through:
Teaching that helps people recognise God’s presence in everyday life and respond with faith, freedom, and integrity.
Prophetic ministry expressed through attentive listening, discernment, and authentic expression woven naturally through everything I do.
Mentoring and supervision that offer a steady, thoughtful place to reflect, especially in times of responsibility or transition.
Counselling and art therapy that integrate Christian spirituality, emotional wellbeing, and creative process.
An ongoing arts practice as a painter, where art becomes a way of listening, prayer, and making meaning.
How I work
I work in ways that are both spiritually attentive and practically grounded. I care about faith that can be lived - faith that holds up under pressure, adapts through change, and brings real freedom and health over time. My work is shaped by experience, creativity, and a steady prophetic attentiveness to what God is saying and doing.
I value authenticity over performance, depth over intensity, and discernment that leads to wise, workable application.
A note on place
Living and working in Aotearoa New Zealand matters to how I work. Faith is always lived somewhere, among particular people, stories, and landscapes. Attending to place, context, and relationship is part of how I understand both ministry and wellbeing.
